Summary

Job description:The selected candidate will develop scientific activities as:Establish and lead an independent research program in molecular cardiovascular scienceInvestigate the molecular pathways and genetic determinants involved in cardiovascular development, function, and pathophysiologyUtilize cutting-edge molecular and genetic techniques to study cardiac remodeling, vascular biology, and cardiovascular signaling pathwaysPublish research findings in top-tier scientific journals and present at national and international conferencesSecure external funding through successful grant applications to support research endeavorsCollaborate with interdisciplinary teams to integrate molecular approaches into cardiovascular researchMentor and train graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, and research staffContribute to the academic community through teaching, seminars, and outreach activities Scientific ProfileThe ideal candidate should possess:A Ph.D. or equivalent degree in molecular biology, genetics, angiogenesis, cardiovascular physiology, or a related field.A strong publication record demonstrating expertise in molecular cardiovascular scienceEvidence of in-depth knowledge of molecular and cellular biology, genetic manipulation techniques, and experience with advanced molecular and genomic methodologies such as CRISPR-Cas9, single-cell sequencing, and gene editing technologies.Evidence of expertise in translational cardiovascular research andA proven track record of obtaining external funding will be highly regarded. Rationale for hiring:Cardiovascular diseases represent a significant global health burden. It needs in-depth molecular investigations to understand the genetic and molecular basis of cardiovascular pathologies. By appointing an Assistant Researcher specializing in molecular cardiovascular science, we aim to advance our understanding of the molecular mechanisms governing cardiovascular development, function, and disease. This research will pave the way for the identification of novel therapeutic targets, precision medicine approaches, and diagnostic biomarkers for cardiovascular disorders. Additionally, the collaborative and interdisciplinary nature of this position will foster the integration of diverse molecular perspectives, technologies, and methodologies, positioning our institution at the forefront of molecular cardiovascular science and providing collaborative opportunities with clinical scientists.We are seeking an exceptional Assistant Researcher in Molecular Cardiovascular science. The successful candidate will lead a robust research program focused on unraveling the molecular mechanisms underlying cardiovascular physiology and disease. This position offers the opportunity to drive groundbreaking discoveries, mentor junior scientists, and contribute to the development of innovative therapies for cardiovascular disorders.

Beneficiaries

Within the scope of the Recovery and Resilience Plan, two types of beneficiaries are responsible for carrying out the projects and using the funding provided. Due to their similar role, the reference to these two types of beneficiaries has been simplified and unified under the term "Beneficiary".
The two types are::
  • Direct Beneficiaries are those whose funding and projects to implement are part of the Recovery and Resilience Plan that has been negotiated and approved by the European Union;
  • Final Beneficiaries are those whose funding and projects to implement are approved following a selection process through Calls for Applications.

Call for applications

As part of the Call for Applications, submissions are requested to select the projects and final beneficiaries to whom funding will be awarded. Specific selection criteria are defined for each call, which must be reflected in the applications submitted and assessed.

The project is appraised on the basis of its compliance with the selection criteria laid down in the calls for applications, and a final score may be awarded, where applicable.

Final evaluation score

8,7
Important note

The components for calculating the assessment score can be found in the selection criteria document mentioned below.

Selection criteria

The funding selection criteria to which this project and its final beneficiary were subject and its score can be found in detail on the Recuperar Portugal platform.
