We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Human Translational Immunology Researcher to join our dynamic team at iNOVA4Health FCT Research Unit. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting cutting-edge research in the areas of Translational Immunology, with a specific focus on immune responses to vaccines, immune dysregulation in chronic inflammatory diseases, interorgan communication and on how understudied biological variables (e.g. age and sex) affect the human immune response. Key tasks include the coordination of a collaborative network with clinicians and hospitals in the Lisbon area guaranteeing access to human biospecimens, supervising projects aimed at site-specific phenotyping of the immune cellular through single cell approaches conducive to unveiling the molecular mechanisms underpinning immune function and pathogenesis in a tissue/organ specific manner. The researcher and his/her team will contribute to the advancement of scientific knowledge and the development of innovative solutions in the field.Responsibilities:1. Coordinate and lead an independent research program addressing key questions in Human Translational Immunology, with an emphasis on the cellular and molecular mechanisms underpinning tissue/organ specific immune responses.2. Supervise graduate students and mentor undergraduate researchers in research projects related to Human Translational Immunology.3. Establish collaborative interdisciplinary research programs to integrate findings into broader research initiatives within the institution and to foster external collaborations4. Contribute to the academic community through the publication of research findings in reputable scientific journals.Scientific Profile:1. Ph.D. in Biomedicine, Medicine, Pharmacy or related fields.2. Proven expertise in designing and conducting research projects, with a clear translational potential.3. Experience in the supervision of graduate students and of mentoring postdoctoral fellows, as well as the coordination of graduate courses4. Demonstrated ability to secure external research funding to support the activities of a research group.5. A strong publication record in reputable scientific journals, demonstrating the ability to contribute novel insights to the field.6. Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively within interdisciplinary teams.7. Participation in European collaborative networks or projects.8.
